How safe is Spain?

Alexandra

Spain in It’s majority is a very safe country. People is kind, you can have safe interactions. Right now I am leaving alone in Madrid and I haven’t had any disgusting experience. Before living in Madrid I was living in the north of Spain, that was even more safe and peaceful! If you have any doubt about any zone in specific you could ask me!

It depends on where you live or where you visit. In some parts though it’s better not to go alone at night as it’s not so safe. In the big cities there’s more people that steal. Besides everything I don’t think that it is the unsafest country you can visit and there’s a lot of nice people too

Spain is safe, but I would avoid walking alone in big cities. Otherwise, I would say it is a country with good security, and female travelers can feel comfortable. The people are friendly and always willing to help.

was very safe!!! I definitely recommend all of the food not a single thing you get could be bad. Just go look around at all of the chapels and everything that is there!! There are not too many activities but there are many tours and things to see just by exploring which is so great. The living here is very different but beautiful to see!

Solo travel experience

I hiked the Camino Frances route across Spain this summer. It was a 550 miles trail from the French border to the Atlantic Ocean. I absolutely loved it! Every few miles there was an Albergue(cheap hostel) and centuries old village. You can embark the trail alone but never feel alone. If you are ever looking for a walk that is focused on self-reflection and spirituality set to a scenic Spanish country-side backdrop, this is for you.

About Me

Hi, I'm Lía! I'm a '96 baby, born and raised in Galicia, Spain. I'm an English teacher, but I'm also a student! I have an MA in Advanced English Studies and I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Feminist Studies. I love travelling and I've actually lived in the UK for half a year as part of my Erasmus exchange. I also love sports; I practised taekwondo for more than 15 years and achieved international recognition in my field, I also enjoy watching tennis matches and MotoGP. I'm into crossfit, diving, and hiking, but I also love doing nothing! I'm a vegetarian but not very picky and since I looove cooking I don't mind preparing a non-vegetarian dish for when my friends come over. I'm very energetic and I'm always down to whatever plans, some may even say I'm fun to be with! I try to be flexible but the truth is I get very nervous when things don't go as planned or when something is out of my control, but I'm working on that and, since I'm a solo-traveller newbie I'm more open-minded about going with the flow. I'm really looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends!
